Eclectic art, writing & oddities
To wrap up this month’s support local business feature, we are sharing another amazing independent book store in Calgary, Shelf Life Books.
We recently stopped by and spent way longer than we expected browsing so many new books and picked up a few.
You really cannot find a more inclusive book store in the city, even pets are welcome!
This Sunday’s support local feature is a little different. As many operate as non-profit businesses, libraries aren’t typically classified as supporting small. However, your local small libraries need some love too.
The libraries in Airdrie, Banff, Canmore, Chestermere, Cochrane, Crossfield, and Okotoks have shown us support by hosting our books on their shelves, and for that, we’re so grateful!
Libraries continue to be a safe space where all are welcome to read, learn, and relax, as well as a place where books can be accessible to all.
If you happen to visit one of the libraries listed above, say hi to our books. We sure did!
We are fortunate enough to be part of some fantastic local markets this year. If you’re looking for interesting handmade and locally crafted products, check out these amazing spots: Inglewood Night Market, Homestead Market, and Farmers & Makers Market at cSpace.
If markets are your thing, you can find us at the upcoming Inglewood Night Market on September 10 & 11. And you can find our books on the AWCS table at cSpace Market on August 28.
See you there!
